Speaking of acupuncture (since I wrote it about it before), I needed some not too long ago because of my shoulders. Both my shoulders got so bad I couldn’t lift either one of them up or reach around my back! Went to the doctor and he said I had adhesive capsilitis, better known as frozen shoulder. I got a steroid shot in both shoulders and got sent to physical therapy for a couple of months.
Well the shots made them feel great for several days! And the physical therapy made them feel better after I did it for a few hours, but then they would stiffen back up. The therapist said they would get better over time, maybe a year! Damn, I had to do something else!
Enter Michele Joblin, acupuncturist. I’ve known her for a long time and she’s been practicing for a while so I figured I’d try it out. I haven’t ever put much thought into alternative medicine, but I figured what the hell.
So I went to her Little Rock Acupuncture Clinic for treatment. She asks a lot of questions a doctor would ask and then you get on the table. I wasn’t sure what to think about those long needles she was about to put in me, but they looked pretty thin. Like hairs. She proceeded to put them in a number of places on my legs, arms, and shoulders. You barely even feel anything! Then she turns on some relaxing music, turns down the light, and you lie there for about 45 minutes.
Then she comes back in and takes the needles out. I got up and man! It really took the edge off the pain! I actually went and play frisbee golf that afternoon! Probably not the best idea, but you get the picture. I mean, it didn’t cure me, but it helped relieve some of the pain for a while.
So anyway, if you ever have any kind of pains or anything that regular medicine isn’t helping, it’s worth giving acupuncture a try. She can help with headaches, back pain, stomach problems, and a lot of other stuff. Oh yeah, she also knows herbal medicine as well. So if you need acupuncture in the Little Rock area and need help, try it!
