About Adrien Brody
The Brothers Bloom is an acclaimed film that was directed by Rian Johnson and that stars Mark Ruffalo and Adrien Brody as two brothers who go on a robbing spree of some of the most affluent people across the globe. The oldest brother in the movie is named Stephen and this character was played by Mark Ruffalo while the other brother, Bloom, was played by none other than Adrien Brody. In the movie Adrien Brody plays the part of a sophisticated con artist who is placed into various roles by his older brother Stephen in order to con people out of money. The two brothers have been doing this since an early age but when the two get older they are leaning towards ending their career with one last heist. This is the premises of the movie and the role that Adrien Brody plays has special significance as this brother falls in love with the main female character in the movie, Penelope, as played by Rachael Weisz.
Adrien Brody is the son of a Hungarian born photographer by the name of Sylvia Plachy as well as the retired professor of history Elliot Brody. He is an only child who grew up in Woodhaven in Queens NY and attended the American Academy of Arts as well as LaGuardia High School for performing Arts. Besides being cast in the movie The Brothers Bloom, Adrien has also played in many other major films including The Thin Red Line in 1998 and The Pianist in 2002. His role in the movie The Pianist earned him a best actor Academy Award. He was the youngest actor to receive the prestigious award at age 29. He has an appreciation for the hip hop genre and one of his favorite groups of all time is the Beatnuts who are also from Queens NY.
